I believe that's correct. But note that MSFT purchased what amounts to an unlimited use license for about $20 million, and that Spyglass, if I interpret the license correctly, gets nothing more than that. So it legitimizes their work, but it doesn't produce any more money. That is one reason, very likely, that Spyglass is moving more into the service area. For example, it's not enough to use the software to reformat or otherwise adjust one's web site material for cell phone or web TV displays. It requires someone to actually do the work! I guess that is what Spyglass is now concentrating on. I like this approach, but it remains to be seen whether, as thousands of web sites are beginning to be made available to a variety of users that do not use standard computers, Spyglass will really be able to give shareholders a satisfactory return on their investment.
