But I think you're right. And one can be as jingoistic as one's little heart desires once one is turned loose upon the students. No wonder we learned nothing but white-washed, deodorized history in high school. Know-nothingism perpetuating itself. And the alternative in college was, by and large, a bunch of Marxists. I majored in history in college, and did have some very good professors.
