thank you for the reply

my reasoning behind reviewing options activity is 'changes'
options give a buyer/seller/writer the opportunity to put/collect $$$ in the precise timeframe a 'forecasted' event is expected to occur

while this can be done with an equity, my uneducated view is that the risk/capital committment appeals to me with options

i have the disadvantage of having an accountacy background which compells me to look at flows as well as assets
while the MARKET can go very positive for quite a long time, individual equities swing to their own rhythm and forecasting/news always seems to be on my mind

knowing about a company (MCOM/FONX etc...) provides an 'anchor' which, in my naive view, can't be replicated with TA alone
using TA to trade successfully, in the middle of a trend, can be very profitable

i am curious as to how TA might identify trend beginnings/ends
post mortem analysis is one thing, but i would be very appreciative if anyone could point out if TA could identify market or equity swings before the fact MCOM is one recent example that i find facsinating but there are plenty others

on the market index side my primary interest is 'cycles', and i have ordered the 'Delta System' package from Wilder

good luck trading
ynot :)
