PW I'm trying to follow this. Where does he find the dos shortcut -- the "MS-DOS Prompt" shortcut in Sart/Programs? I think that's the one you mean because the properties sheet has the tabs you describe. But once I get into Advanced Program Settings you don't say what to do there. I tested the shortcut (double-clicked it) and it opened a dos screen in windows -- not like you said it would. Bill, is it possible you installed a program recently about the same time this thing started happening? There might be something running in the background that is conflicting. You might check your close program thing (the thing that pops up when you hit ctrl/alt/del) and tell us what's running in there. w
