Harbour - what's next

I am not sure what they have left. I am sure that it will continue to pay the bills for a while but the question that you asked "what can they do" is a good question. The management team at Harbour has not really changed and from my discussions with people involved with the company it's questionable as to whether or not they have what it takes to turn this baby around again. Harbour has been down this road before but this time it's a little different for the following reasons;

They may have cash to spend but at this point good opportunities are costing a bundle. It's not like 1993/1993 when the major's were doing serious divestments and lots of bargains were out there

Secondly I don't know if the management team has what it takes. From my understanding there are serious amounts of conflict happening at the senior mgmt level which does not make for good decisions. This has led to serious staff morale problems and many employees have either left or are looking for greener pastures.

I hope that these guys can pull another rabbit out of the hat but I seriously believe that they have the deck stacked against them this time.
