<It means that Intel's new pricing structure is now in effect with the 600 MHz Pentium ///s replacing the 550 MHz Pentium ///s at the high end of the price spectrum, with all "existing" Pentium /// prices moving down the price curve.>

Boy, what an optimist you are! Intel is used to do 3 price cuts a year and they are doing three price cuts a quarter now. So much for the "pricing power" of Intel!

<You know what this means for AMD - DON'T YOU !!! ???>

Your obsession with AMD is fascinating. You probably fail to notice that AMD is priced for failure and INTC for success. Looks like you care more for AMD losing $200M per quarter than you care for Intel growing its earnings to support its long term growth rate. Misery likes company, I guess.

Also, since you were so fond of Thresh's first K7 review, you may like the new Athlon reviews. If you haven't looked at the latest thresh's benchmark, a single Athlon is beating the crap out dual PIII.

Now, if Intel could release Wilamette in 1999 instead of 2001....Nah..
