I've probably read a few dozen economic related books and "The Wealth of Nations" is one of the most difficult to comprehend of them all.

What were the other ones? The Wealth of Nations is at least accessible to any thinking person willing to read slowly and digest. Most modern writing on economics is comprehensible only to mathematicians.

Still, I've always suspected that only a small fraction of those who cite The Wealth of Nations have actually read it. The same can be said of many other writings on the same subject.
