Hi Paul, aside from the fact I could merge a home phone line and computer line into one DSL line, and have lower fees, cable's sometimes inability to organize and proliferate is one reason why I went with DSL.

Yes, you've claimed that DSL is cheaper than cable here before. In Phoenix, Arizona, this statement is PATENTLY FALSE.

uswest.com

According to Useless Worst's web site, even with their recently lowered rates they still charge about $5 more per month than a current Cox Cable TV customer would pay, including the cable modem rental of $15/month and assuming Useless Worst gives you their modem for free. This is for a service that is only 1/4 the speed of a cable connection and probably even less.

Also, all DSL charges are IN ADDITION to the charge for your regular phone line, which is still REQUIRED for you to have to get this service:

12) Do customers need to have voice service or is it included
in the price of the MegaBit Services offering?

MegaBit Services are an enhancement to existing voice service. Customers must have existing telephone service with U S WEST to order MegaBit Services. The charges for MegaBit Services are in addition to the existing voice services the customer is paying.

Is there ANYONE else out there who can show that DSL is cheaper than a cable connection? Especially for connections of the same speed?
