Why does this stock continue to be the laggard in the group? The stock price has not been above $2 since 1994 and some of Alpine's competitors have had a strong run-up recently despite posting inferior results to Alpine, and most of these companies have weaker balance sheets. Alpine posted decent numbers last year, and had a relatively good first quarter, yet the stock price continues to languish. Yes it has rebounded of late, albeit from a very low level, which doesn't really account for the good fundamentals of this company.

The last time drilling stocks had a good run, Alpine was conspicuous by its absence. Are we going to have a repeat performance this time around? It's time the company got its message out to the investment community. The last research report I have on the company goes back a few years, so I don't believe they get much attention, or respect for that matter, on the Street.

Any comments?
