So what would you have them do? MM are there to create an orderly market but they also have another problem....they must earn a living. How do you suggest they maintain a proper, spread and at the same time deal with incredible order imbalances during these $5 to $10 per minute run-ups and downs? Maybe they should do exactly the opposite of what you are now accusing them of? This , too , would be illegal as you have explained it.
