The kind of keyboard / mouse switch that you are talking about are very common. They are called a CPU switch. But rather than have a mouse or keyboard with two ends, they take one mouse, keyboard, and monitor (if you want) and allow you to control many different computers. They usually start in configurations for control of 2 PC's, and then 4, 8, and then up. The most common use is in server farms where many monitors and keyboards would really get in the way. Here is a link to one that I use at work. linksys.com

Blackbox also has many different configurations.

Very good item. For trading you would only want to hook up the keyboard and mouse, and leave your monitors connected all the time.

Good Luck
