Does anyone else think that EDIG might be involved in the portable music player that TI is talking about?

With the EET article:

TI is selling a portable digital music player reference design to OEMs that Johnson claimed meets SDMI specifications. Only the companion CD-ROM software for the
design will be delayed, Johnson said. TI will wait until the SDMI chooses the screening technology in August and will probably ship the software sometime in September or
later, he said.

And the press release from TI and SNDK back on June 28th:

TI, Liquid Audio, Fraunhofer and SanDisk provide the leading technology for each segment of the portable audio solution. Together, the companies are delivering an openly-licensable security solution based on TI's programmable low-power digital signal processors (DSPs) and Liquid Audio's secure portable player platform (SP3) that improves the consumer experience for digital music and enables interoperability among secure portable music devices.

``Using TI's DSPs, we provide OEMs a quick-path to market with our MicroOS(TM) file management system interfacing with SanDisk's Compact Flash,' said Fred Falk, President and CEO of e.Digital Corporation. ``Just as Liquid Audio supports multiple music formats, we use TI's DSPs and our software to recognize and play a range of secure audio formats. We are excited to work with these industry leaders and be one of the first to adopt the new SDMI- compliant solution for portable music devices.'

I remember reading in one article that Falk said mentioned using Liquid Audio's technology to save a lot of time. So I know that EDIG is working with all three of these companies. I wouldn't be surprised if they are designing the player for this group as well.
