Does anyone have a statistics on just how dangerous private planes are? Ive lived in at least 4 different regions of this country, and I remember there would be a "plane crashes in local field, two killed" story about every month or so.

Extrapolate those odds across the US, and you've got a lot of little planes going down.

I'll stick with commercial airliners where I KNOW it's safer than driving a car.
