You need to open an account with a broker who either underwrites IPOs or the very least with one who participates in the distribution process.Of course as you already know all major brokers like Merrill Lynch,Goldman Sachs,Morgan Stanley etc are underwriters,some of the others who participate in the process are:Discover,eTrade,WIT Capital,Schwab,DLJ Direct,WB Hambrecht,Prefferred Capital,Friedman, Billings & Ramsey etc
