Spytrader: thanks for the excellent WSJ article. I agree with the comment made by Burke that U.S. investors probably don't have much current interest in investing in foreign stocks--after all, we're in the middle of an 8 year bull market--but that there is a great deal of interest that foreign investors have in U.S. stocks (tech stocks, no doubt, principally). However, if the bull market dies--and it will SOME DAY, then the ability to purchase international stocks will be a big plus for E*Trade.
