The 1.8M volume can also be very deceptive. We have to discount the double counting method Nasdaq uses to compute volume. Also, for a hot stock like FFIV, there are countless day traders scalping it in and out all day for small profit. I personnally know 3 of them who did more that 7 round trips in FFIV on Friday alone. 1000 shares x 3 x 14 = 42000. These 3 alone accounted for about 2.2% of the entire volume of Friday. Because of this kind of heavy churing, it's very hard to discern the real volume deriving from purposeful accumulation of shares.
