Wayne, I did have Cat Thief. I couldn't believe General Challenge was at 2-5, and my girl friend and my Mother both wanted to bet Pat Day. The only hangup I had with him is that he sure likes second place (Cat, not Pat). I don't know if Saratoga and Del Mar give us any clues. They are sort of like Summer Camp. I know that when I handicap, throwing out Del Mar and Saratoga results works best for veteran horses, as they don't seem repeatable at other tracks. The Quarter Horses have been kind to me so far. Since I am mainly a speed handicapper, speed holds up much better over 350 yards than a mile and a quarter. <g> And, for some reason, the bettors don't seem to understand sprint speed. I won a nice 250 yard race on a horse called Hot Eye, last night. He was third choicem and by far the fastest in a very short race. But everyone bet on the horses who had beaten him at 400 yards. Didn't make sense.
