I was born dead with the umbilical cord wrapped around my neck three times and was so blue, I was black. Plus what was supposed to be my nose was smashed into my face. It is remarkable what repairs can be made to an infant, though I would imagine there are some people who wish the repairs had not been successful. Truedog is my adoptive Native American name. It is the translation of a northern plains tribal name for wolf. TD
