CDS to Showcase Universal Gateway Feature of OASIS 2000At the Highly Anticipated Resort At Summerlin
Casino, Hotel and Point of Sale Purchases Tracked by One System;
Guests Rewarded Throughout Resort
LAS VEGAS, July 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Casino Data Systems (Nasdaq: CSDS) announced today that The Resort At Summerlin has chosen CDS' OASIS 2000(TM) casino management system to monitor the 1,270 gaming machines in its casino.
OASIS 2000, which will be showcased at the World Gaming Congress and Expo this year in Las Vegas, is the new version of CDS' OASIS/Windows(R) slot accounting and player tracking system. It provides operators with a variety of slot and player information in an easy-to-use format. The system uses advanced electronic monitoring equipment to collect, integrate, analyze and report information on player and machine activity. More than 125,000 gaming devices in over 103 casinos across North America are now being monitored by CDS' OASIS systems.
In addition to the traditional programs of the casino management system, OASIS 2000 includes CDS' Universal Gateway Interface program. The Universal Gateway enables the casino management system to interface with the hotel system and point of sale systems such as restaurants, gift shops, spa, etc. This allows patrons to accumulate points traditionally through slot or table play in the casino, as well as through any purchases in the resort. With a swipe of their card, patrons can use their points throughout the resort to pay for meals, spa treatments, gifts, or other hotel services.
Using CDS' PersonalBanker Gaming Redemption system, which will be installed later this year, guests will also be able to transfer dollar values directly to the slot machine, based on the amount of points they have accumulated. Similar to an ATM transaction, complete with a PIN, guests can redeem their points directly to the credit meter of the gaming device.
"The selection and performance of the information system and the applications involved are critical to the long term competitive position of The Resort," said Jim Fonseca, Senior Vice President and COO of The Resort At Summerlin. "The Resort has worked closely with CDS to implement a product that will offer significant benefits to its guests."
The Resort also purchased a number of CDS' popular new Bingo game, the first model in its Bandit Series(TM) of multimedia video games, as well as CDS' Xtreme(TM) Series video slot games. They are also installing Xtreme Jackpots progressive link games and CDS' high-performance ProVIEW III progressive meter products.
"We are delighted that Resort At Summerlin values CDS' expertise in casino management systems, as well as games and meters," said Lee Lemas, Chief Operations and Financial Officer of Casino Data Systems. "The Resort At Summerlin recognizes the wave of the future regarding the trend toward the destination resort experience and CDS is thrilled to be partnering with them in their effort to reward guests on activities throughout the resort."
Owned and operated by Swiss Casinos of America, The Resort At Summerlin will feature two six-story Regent International hotels with a total of 541 guest rooms and suites, as well as a health club and spa. The casino, which is separated from the two hotels by The Paseo de Vida, will offer over 1,270 slot machines, 40 table games and two intimate salon prives, as well as The Ringside Bar race and sports book and an entertainment bar.
