That's the point exactly, except that you, are the one "stubbornly trying to forge an absurd relationship" saying ".. perception has nothing to do with reality." Tell that to the trillions of dollars in the market, or to the bean counters in elections, or the millions of people under treatment for psychosis, or the billions more who believe in God. Perception in human terms, is reality.
On the other hand, if you're talking about perception through the lens of scientific method, yes, its effective and "real" but only within its own envelope of definitions and probability.
Go outside that and you enter the larger world of human reality which is dirty, contrary, emotional, and surprizingly just like the real world.
