******off topic LORAL nuts only*********
Hi Nancy, re:"Oh yeah, in my view this is the only dark cloud of any significance over Loral. Bernie Schwartz is getting a bit old and the question of succession is not proven."
No worries whatsoever, Nancy. Last year I received a picture of Bernie [I think it was taken at a shareholder meeting, don't recall exactly]. He was wearing a bright blue tie with yellow disks--obviously suns--with each of the suns wearing a happy face. In turn, each of the 'suns' was wearing sun glasses. BS had a grin with as much kilowattage as his tie: I figure if you can pull that off in your late 70's (and look like a million bucks doing it), we've got plenty of mileage left.
This is another good example of non-numerical due diligence. ALWAYS sell the stock of companies who are renting expensive art collections to family members. NEVER sell the stock of companies with CEOs who have Bernie's sense of humor and zest for life. :-)
Seriously, have you ever heard him go 'off' on the future of communications? Sounds like a 17 year old internut kid gushing away rather than some guy who turned in (what was the exact number?) 36 consecutive quarters of increased earnings at old Loral! kind regards, mike
