Related items. When US exploded the first Nuclear device at Los Alamos, some of the scientists were worried that it would set the atmosphere on fire. Didn't stop em. When US exploded first H-bomb in S. Pacific, there was a finite possibility oceans would turn into nuclear fuel. Didn't stop em. As Ralph Nader said, there's always disasters associated with new technology, some expected, some not. I'm betting the new accelerator is a big fat dud as far as revolutionary effects or new ideas are concerned. CD
