Copy directory to floppy ...

You've already received some clear posts on how to do this, so I'll toss some sand into the gears and make it complex.

Before doing the 'real thing', do a DIR /? and look at the options at your disposal. Especially important is the /AH (Attribute Hidden) which the support people may need to see. You may want to include subdirectories too with the /S. You can combine more than one switch, for example: DIR /AH /S /OD, the order isn't important but the spaces are.

Once you see what you want on screen, you're ready to re-direct the output to a file. "DIR STUF*.* /AH /O-S > SUPPORT.STF" Note: this is just an example. You'll choose your options, if any, differently.

Once the file is created, open it with notepad and check that you're happy with the results. If you are, you can copy it to a floppy with Windows Explorer.

Cheers, PW.

P.S. I guess I just wanted you to try the /? switch and discover the available options for DIR.

P.P.S.
Someone on the joke thread told the story of a tech support guy asking the user to send him a copy of his floppy. A couple of days later, an envelope arrived with a photocopy of his floppy disk!

P.P.P.S. Actually, it was her disk!
