If a 50% increase in memory speed (PC66 to PC100) buys you only 2% to 8% in performance, imagine what a 33% increase in memory speed (PC100 to PC133) buys you.

As you well know, "memory speed" consists of many components. The larger caches on modern CPU's have decreased the impact of long latency DRAMs. The high bandwidth of faster memories is of little value to the CPU.

In other words, DRAM is mostly a don't care on the motherboard- as long as you have enough to minimize paging by Windows.
