Msft said the same "things" the last several qtrs (although I don't recall them doing it in the late 80s). remember 6 months ago with MSFT trading at $55 when the CFO was asked if he wanted to say anything about MSFT's valuation? His statement, "Yah, it's too high."? It really does become a game of what negatives they'll say about their growth prospects for the up and coming qtr. they also "feared" that sales of WIN98 wouldn't pace WIN95 - and this hasn't proven true. they say a lot of things.
