Folks, MSFT is doing absolutely great! What I find especially gratifying, as a shareholder, is that MSFT's international business is growing by leaps and bounds. This is *the* key to MSFT's longer term health. MSFT already has as dominant a position in the PC market in the US. Hard to expand here - or more precisely, hard to gain further market share, if anything, I'd expect a lessening of marketshare even in O/S as the Mac stages a comeback, Linux makes inroads (yes, yes, it will happen), etc. But internationally, it is almost virgin territory, which is ultimately a bigger market than the US. However - this is a very tricky situation... precisely because MSFT is not dominant on the international scene (i.e. it has significant competition with political hurdles and nationalistic issues), MSFT is not a *given* winner there. It must gather the same kind of momentum it has had in the US, otherwise they will be just another player there. And that will not be easy - certainly not as easy as it was in the US a few years ago. So, MSFT's growth internationally has been of great interest to me. And it looks good.
So, even if MSFT sells off short term - I am very optimistic about the longer term prospects (certainly over the next 2-3 years).
