NEWS RELEASE July 19, 1999
ICA OUTLINES NEW DIRECTION WITH WEBSITE LAUNCH

Harry Barr, President of International CanAlaska Resources Ltd, ("ICA") is pleased to announce the launching of a new website detailing ICA's mandate to invest in companies with strong new information technology initiatives.

The website address is <http://www.ica-ecom.com>

Mr. Barr recently stated, "ICA's strategy is to become a financial partner to several emerging technology groups, providing our shareholders with a broad range of information technology investments. Analysts agree Canada has world-class technology capabilities, but currently lags some 12 to 18 months behind the U.S. in development due to a lack of venture capital funding."

By fulfilling the venture capital needs of start-up businesses, ICA can participate in the growth of future Canadian success stories, helping to establish and market new ventures in Canada, the United States, and globally. "Hundreds of Canadian management teams and their associated technologies are underfunded" Mr. Barr said, "and this provides ICA with excellent opportunities and substantial deal flow."

Key members of ICA's Advisory Board and Company Management have attended recent Information Technology conferences in Calgary, Edmonton, and Toronto and been introduced to a large number of high quality potential partners. ICA has short-listed four opportunities for detailed analysis, and the Company expects that one or more of these groups will be chosen as initial projects in the near future.

ICA has been listed as an Advanced Company (Senior Board) on the Vancouver Stock Exchange for many years. In addition, ICA has been fully reporting to the United States Securities and Exchange Commission via Form 20-F filings for over two years, and recently filed a Form 211 which will enable ICA to trade on the NASD OTC Bulletin Board. Expanded trading in the United States is expected within the next ninety days.
