The following is just my personal views of the NWT diamond

industry and what may transpire in the future.

First off it seems pretty clear that DeBeers had better

make some moves soon or they will be, to a large extent,

out in the cold in the Canadian diamond hunt.

For example: Ekati--- no chance

Diavik-- no chance

Mpv -- has control

Wsp -- independent

If this situation is maintained then DeBeers would,at best,

control 25 per cent of the Diamonds produced in Canada-- assuming

the last three do go into production.

This is clearly not a large enough percentage to satify a

company who wishes to MAINTAIN CONTROL of the diamond industry.

If they dont go after Winspear then someone else will and its

hard to imagine them letting that happen.

RT will be looking for a deal and DB may be best off taking

the company out in the short term rather than waiting too long

for more information which will only bring in more competition

for the property. Lets face it DeBeers must have a fairly good

idea of what lies under the lake and playing it cute may only

increase their eventual costs.

Can they or will they allow another company to take the property

and distribute the diamonds outside the cso? I personally dont

think so.

Regards
