Xerox Files Counter-Suit Against H-P Over Printer Technology Xerox Files Counter-Suit Against H-P Over Printer Technology Palo Alto, California, July 19 (Bloomberg) -- Xerox Corp., the world's biggest copier maker, has filed a counter suit against No. 2 computer maker Hewlett-Packard Co. regarding a patent-infringement dispute over technology in printers.
The suit was filed in a U.S. District Court in Kansas by Xerox and Anderson Industries Inc. and relates to H-P TrueRes technology, which sharpens photos on color-laser printers, H-P said.
The lawsuit comes after H-P sued Xerox in June, alleging patent infringement and breach of contract. The companies have four other patent lawsuits pending between them, H-P said.
Palo Alto, California-based H-P rose 2 1/4 to 116 1/4. Stamford, Connecticut-based Xerox fell 1 9/16 to 57 1/2.
