Unclewest, Let me add my thanks, to the others you received, for all your hard work on keeping track of Rambus and all the news. I have stayed away from yahoo until you posted your problems overthere. So I spent some time tonight reading a hundred or so posts. I have even more respect for you now. How can you slog thru all the crap over there? Did you ever get an answer to why they cut you off? Maybe they felt you added to much class to their site and you were ruining the neighborhood! Intel's "announcement" was just good business. They listened to their customers said and acted to placate them. They haven't committed anything other than to study the issue. They can now do so openly, as Tom Warren suggested. If RDRAM fulfills its expectations and suppliers can ramp quickly enough then the whole "announcement" will be forgotten. If problems arise with the ramp then Intel won't be left out in the cold and they don't have to surprise anyone with another "transition technology" late in the game. You have to wonder about the timing. First there was no press announcement. Second, was it coincidence that it came after the huge runup last week?
