I found the owner or rather the owners daughters. The owner has been traveling for a month and had one daughter keep her but that didn't work out. So, they brought her down to the owners house to stay alone with daughter number 2 coming to feed her. Daughter 2 called today and she is 7 months pregnant and too tired to come pick up Pepper today so could she do it tomorrow. I'm thinkin' what if the dog needed to be fed? I told her I would be happy to keep the dog until her owner returned on Thursday or Friday. I think she will take my offer.

Oh, found out they had this little one outside in the 105 degree heat all last week and that is why she had so many fleas, ear mites and was so dirty. She is looking much better now after two baths and some love. They were surprised the dog was so happy with me, I guess she didn't like staying in over a hundred degree weather and finds my house a little more comfortable. Go figure.

I'd like to keep her but I'm sure her owner when she returns will want her back. She is so cute she must be missed. I'm not crazy about handing her over to the owners daughters when it seems they so little care about this dog. Breaks my heart.
