Clint,

Did you listen to the MOT CC. QCOM is reporting that component shortages could limit growth going forward. Current guidance is for the company revenue growth to be on track, only upside surprises will be effected. An analyst reported that MOT reported the same component shortage problem in their call. Component shortages are across the board and not any one specific item. The shortages seems to be rotating and are based on timing issues. Suppliers are adding capacity, but still did not expect this kind of demand. Shipments of handset next Q should be made up of their new thin phone (50 percent up from 20 percent this Q). Margin are higher on the thin phone. An analyst suggested the shortage might be in displays and filters, but QCOM said it was not any one item. Most analysts seem to have adapted to their forward looking royalty revenue recognition scheme. I still don't like it, but that is the way the company has decided to account for the royalties.

Harry
