Re: TLAB's Q2 Sales Breakdown

"Some additional numbers: 2Q total - $540M; Titan - $319M; Martis DXX - $90M; Echo Cancellers - $57M; Cablespan - $17M"

Chuck,
Now that's what I should have taken notes on. Thanks for jotting them down.

I share your reservations, but notice how TLAB management is willing to lay it out on the line. It's rare for a company to be so upfront about their current sales and forecasts for EACH product in their line. They are always willing to answer questions on current details and future projections. This is what I like about TLAB. They never bumble around.

I missed the wireless market driving the Titan sales. If so, that should be solid for the rest of the year (understatement). And regarding, Martis they threw that right out there for all the analysts to pick apart. I gathered they had problems with it because Asia has not recovered as quickly as they would have liked, and the strong US$ is still causing problems for sales into Europe. Asia may turn around things for them in Q3 and Q4. But Europe I'm still not that hopeful for (Euro has almost reached parity with the US$!).

As for establishing new revenue streams, one thing I didn't catch was a discussion of the two most recent acquisitions. I was very surprised that the parts of the CC I listened to carefully, did not focus on this extremely important aspect. I'm sure those are a big part of their 3x by 03 ($6 billion by 2003) plans. Yet they didn't discuss this? They purchased Netcore Systems for $575 million. And they purchased Alcatel's DSC Communications business in Europe for $110 million.

Did I miss the discussion of how these two big acquisitions will help ramp up sales? I thought this would be the big story during this CC and was disappointed it was not. But then again, TLAB is never known for hype, but I thought at least the analysts would pressure them for some answers.
Thanks,
MikeM(From Florida)

PS Tim M. thanks for your DSL comments.
