>>> I have been saying on this board for over two years that the trick to making potentially big bucks in this market is through cross-marketing. Your guy Duke Nukem should have been taken more advantage of three years ago although I am not suggesting that it is beyond too late for it to still be utilized successfully. The action figures were a start but I am not sure that really is that big of a deal. <<<
We're doing very well with the Duke franchise:
o DN: Time to Kill, an original 3rd-person shooter for the PSX. o DN: Zero Hour, an original 3rd-person shooter for the N64 that's been very, very highly reviewed (not once getting below a 90% yet). o Duke Nukem (an original game) for the Color GameBoy will be released within 2 months. o Six action figures. o A collectable, limited edition statue. o Two Tiger electronics hand-held games (at Wal-Mart, etc.) o InterAct is releasing any week now a collectors memory card for the PSX and N64 that has the body of Duke, similar to the Lara Croft version InterAct did. o We have a PlayStation2 original Duke Nukem title in development (for Gathering of Developers). o We have an original PSX title in development (GTIS). o We have a Duke movie in progress (meeting again with the script writer this coming Monday).
Anyway, there will be a lot more happening when the movie comes out, because that's the product that will hopefully greatly increase market awareness of Duke. When the movie comes out, you'll see Duke shirts, backpacks, more toys, on and on. But you can see that we've done more things than most games, and that one of our rules is that each platform gets its own original Duke game, which is very tough to do and much more expensive and time consuming, but we think worth it in the long run.
