I bought Tesser's book and have read most of it. He defines Trader Status as other's have on this thread, great work on all that BTW. I did not gain much more, (and in time this knowledge may be VERY valuable) out of this book AT THIS TIME. It seems historical and technical about where "we've been" economically and tax wise over the past several years, as opposed to the "how to and how not to" of this business, in plain english ...personally I will be investing more time, energy and money into setting up a /company?corporation? and doing that research.

It seems pretty simple, (but maybe not easy) to get Trader Status if you really are a "trader" and not a "holder".

Great thread...I've been looking for one like this for several weeks and thought of starting one myself. Nice to know I am not the lone ranger out here.
