Scrapps, I sincerely do not want this to happen. But I did not catch up to him with an abusive post. He came after me and continued. Don't you see this? This I think we both can agree is very inappropriate behavior that needs to be adressed. After all, it can hurt all of us here at SI.
Perhaps things got out of hand. I think there is enough blame to go around. But an end has to come of this. Some of the posts I received from you and this other person was nothing short of abusive. In all sincerety Scrapps, was it worth it?? Was it worth to treating another individual this way? I imagine you to be a good person. You do contribute. No doubt about it. But there are times that shall we say are a little "off", and leave it at that?? Perhaps you meant something else. But can you at least understand how this can be received by other individuals, pehaps who are much more serious than you?
I am not interested in getting anyone kicked off. But, to be blunt but sincere, this highschool clique mentality needs to stop. It is very self-desctrucive. This is where I am coming from
So I am willing to admit that I let my buttons be pushed and then responded in a way to encourage what happened. But let me ask you a question. Is it necissary to call people names and invalidate their contribution as a means of communication, no matter how much you disagree with them? I think you can understand my frustration. I am indeed a very serious person. As a side note, if you looked carefully over my posts, I think you also found my committment to contibuting to worthwhile discussion here at SI.
When someone can get kicked off but still goads the individual in a "double dare" response into sending a letter to the webmaster, who is out of controll here? Who is acting as a mature adult? This is the real world out here, not some clubhouse.
So I am very willing to let go of this. Please Scrapps, do understand my frustration. IMO there is no room for abusive behavior from adults on the web, particularily here at SI. I do have a soft spot to this which I am willing to work on. By the way, do you think the same? If so, please join me in this effort to move this discussion on to more productive ends. Lets leave the past in the past where it belongs. My committment is to treat everyone here in the same way I would want to be treated, in a positive fashion. Are you up to joining me in this committment? I do think we can get along very well if we want to.
Time to swallow our pride?
