You buy a pizza for $10, it's 1/2 mushroom and 1/2 anchovy. You decide you don't like anchovy, so you sell the anchovy half. Does that make the original price of $10 cheap? You suggest a stock dividend will "move the stock price up". If the division they want to spin off is so great, then why don't they keep it inside the company? I'm not saying that MIOA is dog doo, I'm just trying to point out a more analytical way to look at the situation. Anyway, MIOA will be releasing the full year 1996 numbers this week, at least that's what the SEC requires, lest they be tardy. And, the March quarter will be more interesting, since you'll be able to get a handle on the true number of shares outstanding. Their revenues in the Sep qtr were about equal to that of a single McDonald's restaurant for the same time period. And I bet the fries are better under the golden arches, too.
