A.,

O'Shaughnessy's approach is valid for holding times of precisely one year and beats the Index by a substantial margin consistently, decade after decade.

It does not and never will compete with the hot sector of the moment either going up or going down.

If his approach isn't suitable for you, don't pay any attention to it. But criticizing him because he doesn't pick MSFT is a little disingenuous IMO.

He selects a winning strategy, then religiously adheres to it. It's not for me, but that doesn't take anything whatsoever away from him or his approach.

And if I remember correctly, BRK.a came from about 30000 less than 3 years ago. Most BRK.a holders are far ahead of the market and any other Fund that they could have held for the same time. Again, if I wanted to own KO, G, and AXP, I'd buy them directly rather than pay twice market to get them through BRK.a. But that doesn't in anyway detract from Mr Buffett's brilliance as an investor.

Ian.

P.S. When you're worth more than $15B, I just might take your criticism of Warren seriously. Until then, it will only sound like jealous whining to me.
