Power companies have only started the shift to NG for " on line power needs"....these power plants are cheap to build and require only 3-4 weeks of operation each year to break even.....hence where NG is cheap you will see more and more plants pop up. Also as the age of the nuke power plants reach 20 year point....required maint is required....they still have the power requirements during repair and once again the NG will come into play....most of my research is related to the southcentral US so can't tell you much about east coast status....good luck.....CHK is a transformed company....they are betting that NG will be more profitable in next 5-7 year play than oil...if they are correct it will go up.
