"Virtual" Portfolios......
In microsoft investor.com I maintain many "virtual portfolios."
I like to try out new ideas by tracking with "play" money before implementing any actual plan of action. In these portfolios one can set them up with an imaginary 1 to 5000 shares, or whatever your investment style is.
Currently some of My virtual portfolios set up there are;
1. Roger's Shorts.... The stocks shorted by Roger Babb
2. Mcnabb Brothers Shorts...Stocks shorted by the Mcnabb brothers,
who frequently post on Roger's thread.
3. Sell recommendations....This contains some stocks found in
Briefing.com that have SELL recommendations by analysts. (Yes,
there are SOME analysts who say SELL instead of HOLD.)
4. Mike's Shorts...Where I track my OWN ideas
5. PTR SHORTS...where I track the current recommendations of the
Newsletter I previously mentioned.
6. PTR longs
There are many others but you get the idea. By tracking various suggestions of individuals, one can get the feel for their knowledge and credibility. One can also test out any of his own theories before putting them into practice.
Hope all this helps you to become a more profitable investor and, as usual, I welcome ALL who have something to offer to this thread !
Mike
