Just read in a pr that BEOS was a takeover target by AAPL: excerpt: Apple officials considered buying Be and its OS late last year, but negotiations broke down after the two sides could not agree on a selling price. Apple subsequently turned its attention to Next Software, agreeing last month to purchase the company and its NextStep operating system for a reported $400 million.
