Hi Evan,
My cousin Martha, who is an MD in accupuncture and has a PhD in Chinese, has a place in the "ritzy" district right on Lake Michigan.
If I have any desire to be in Chicago (other than to hit the Riverboats, or go to the cultural events), I'll go visit her. The town itself is a notch just under NYC for noise, congestion and nuts - not my corner of the corn patch really..!!
I'm out here between the corn, beans and bass, south of Joliet; doing this production assistance thing. Rather like home, in Iowa. You can scare up a pheasant or two, if you take a hike along the rows.
Have to leave the "Windy" to the ketchup pack squishers, and those whom can afford to live high above them; or in neighborhoods that most AINNONites can't afford to walk through. (Patrolled, you see.)
Gee, I'd love to stay and chat, but, Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.....
John :-)
ps: The lakeside home(s) will be in (1) Dillon, CO and (2) just outside Raleigh. That's why I'm watching Trade-A-Plane for a nice Cessna 337 SkyMaster (aka: Push-pull, Mix Master, or Oscar-Duece (O-2) if your the Rambo type). |
