"Liberal" is certainly not a vulgar word in the same sense that "dickhead" and "dittohead"
are, Christopher, but when it is combined with the word "press" it is usually meant to be
pejorative.

I was using it descriptively. I have been called both liberal and conservative (not to mention "commie-pinko" by a member of the American Legion and "nazi" by a writer for Mother Jones) at various times by various people, so I have to avoid perjorative connotations to avoid smearing myself. It was an observation of something that IM
E most objective and knowledgable observers recognize, at least privately if not publicly.
