Doc: I'm astonished to be lumped in the pack, albeit in your terms currently way behind Lawrence. I don't know your criteria, but in all my posts from May 9 on, "never was heard a discouraging word". I focused most on food in posts after the aforementioned date. Now, I will spill my guts to you why, and go even more OT, for which I ask your and the thread's indulgence - I used to be fat, very fat when I was young (150# at age nine). I managed to conquer that mountain, am currently of normal weight, but still have a fascination with food. But I constantly live with the remembrance of peer group ridicule when I was a bowling ball of a little lad, while I drool over visions of whipped cream laden pies and other delights. I am bringing this up to you as a Doctor specifically because, although this is not probably your area of expertise, you might have some empathy with my plight. Concurrently, I am working feverishly to exit the dreaded realm of the "naysayer", which I hope you might be able to see. |
