Yes access is improving. The new auto dialer makes it very easy to get on. Dec/Jan was very bad.

Those on this thread who believe that the only folks joining AOL are the unwashed masses, i.e., those that don't understand the IP alternative or are PC illiterates, may be fooling themselves.

I'm an engineer (BSME 1980), PC literate and technical strong in my field. My work day is filled with problem solving and abstract concepts.

In 1996 I tried three IP providers. I found each boring and (IMO) generally dead. In November 1996 I joined AOL. AOL's lay-out is a no brainer which is exactly what I want after a hard day at work. So count me as a washed mass who is staying with AOL. Sometimes engineers just want to have fun, ah!
