I don't like VA Research (or is it VA Linux now?) for the simple reason that their hardware is a commodity (intel) and their OS is a commodity (Linux). All it takes is one of the big boys like Compaq, Dell, IBM or HP to start selling Linux pre-installed on their full range of Intel-based boxes and VA is reduced to competing on price.
