The answer might lie in their competition... namely Qualcomm. It will be interesting to see if LSI is making any inroads in CDMA, since the market for that technology is nothing short of exploding. I'm pretty sure you've seen what Qualcomm has done the last 2 quarters, and the projections they have going forward for ASICS is staggering. Their gross margins on ASICS are going through the roof. The problem for LSI, and anyone else competing with Qualcomm for CDMA ASICS sales, is they are on their 5th generation chip, while most are struggling to bootstrap their first (see Motorola and Nokia).
