Catalyst Semiconductor CEO talks to The Wall Street Transcript
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 20, 1999--The Wall Street Transcript has published an in-depth interview with Radu M. Vanco of Catalyst Semiconductor, Inc. (OTC BB:CATS), in which he talks at length about his company's future.
He says, "The company was founded in 1985 and went public six years ago in 1993. The company was originally founded as an engineering IP licensing oriented company and has evolved into a product oriented company. The company has developed an in-depth expertise in developing, manufacturing and marketing non-volatile memory products, memories that retain data even after the power is turned off."
He explains, "These products come in two large categories: EEPROM, which stands for electrically-erasable-programmable memories and FLASH memories which are the same type of memory except for some fundamental differences which make them a lower cost alternative for very high density products."
He declares, "In terms of the growth opportunity, there's no question that the FLASH memory market has had and will continue to have substantial growth. The EEPROM market has grown steadily at rates of give or take, 15% and will continue to do so. A more significant area of growth is in the higher density serial memories, which provide a large memory in a small, low pin-count package."
Looking forward, he states, "I believe that the potential for this stock is outstanding if we execute properly. The potential is there just by executing, by continuing to maintain profitable activity and by continuing to perform on the basics in the existing business - that's before we execute our new product strategy."
