I do not agree. I think that very much overdone pessimism is why the stock is trading in the teens and not in the forties. By one survey there are 24 analysts covering AMD. One has a strong buy, one has a strong sell, and twenty-two are neutral or market perform; these neutral morons, afraid to lose their jobs (as Tom Kurlak did), refuse to made an essentially binary decision (pun very much intended). At 17 AMD is a few points over book valuation and about one half of its break up value currently, as the Vantis sale illustrated. The market continues to say "show me the money" based on AMD horrific history of disappointing after promises. August should be exciting. I hope that, for a refreshing change, that the surprises are positive.
