William, I tend to agree with your opinion. I don't believe MSFT wants to downplay things too much, they just want to get their point across. I am still a little upset with the guidance from Monday, but if Maffei is indeed sincere with his statements then he was doing us a favor. Not that the Market wouldn't take MSFT out behind the barn and shot it in the head if indeed MSFT performed exactly at the expectations Maffei suggested.

IMHO, MSFT will clarify the tracking stock issue sooner rather than later. They need the currency to attract talent, plain and simple. Its a problem that companies other than just MSFT are facing. These types of tracking securities may become more common place depending on how successful MSFT's stock performs under such a scenario.
